🤔 FAQs

These are the questions we are most frequently asked about making Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

Why do body builders eat Rice Krispie Treats?

Does Kellogg's make Cocoa Krispies?

Yes, Cocoa Krispies is made by Kelloggs.

What happens if you put too much butter in Rice Krispie Treats?

If you put to much butter in rice krispie treats they will be greasy and very gooey. They will not harden enough to hold their shape.

How long do chocolate covered Rice Krispie Treats last?

They last about three days in an airtight container, if you can manage to not eat them all before then.

Do you put Rice Krispie Treats in the refrigerator after you make them?

No, store rice krispie treats at room temperature. Storing them in the fridge may cause them to dry out.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • Do not a heat that is higher than medium. Medium-low would also work great. If you use too high of a heat your marshmallows will scorch.
  • The brown food coloring is optional. It will just give your spiders a darker brown color, but feel free to leave it out if desired.
  • I like to use a metal dry measuring cup to scoop out evenly sized portions for the spider bodies. I don't recommend using a plastic measuring because the mixture will be hot.
  • While you are shaping the bodies from this rice krispie treat recipe spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray this will prevent the cereal mixture from sticking to your hands.
  • You can also spray your utensils with cooking spray for easy clean up.

📚 Variations

  • Not a fan of Cocoa Krispies? Add more brown food coloring to your marshmallows and use original rice krispies cereal.
  • You could also drizzle the top of these spider rice krispie treats with melted chocolate for an extra sweet touch.
  • If you are a fan of peanut butter, mix in ¼ cup of peanut butter to the melted marshmallows before you add the cereal for a sweet peanut butter treat.

🥫 Storage

Store these rice krispie treats in airtight container at room temperature for up three days.
