🤔 FAQs

These are the questions we are most frequently asked about making Creamy Angel Hair Pasta.

What is the difference between angel hair and spaghetti?

Angel hair pasta is much finer than spaghetti. Because of how fine the texture is, it is best used for light sauces.

What is angel hair pasta also called?

Angel Hair Pasta is also known as capellini pasta. Capellini means "fine hair".

Is angel hair pasta healthy?

Angel hair pasta can have nutritional benefits especially if you are using whole wheat pasta.

Is angel hair really pasta?

Yes, this is really pasta. It is just very thin and fine.

👩🏻‍🍳 Tips

  • Be very careful to not overcook the garlic. It can burn quickly when you are sautéing it.
  • Because angel hair pasta is so fine, you want to be careful so that you don't cook it too long.
  • Use high-quality parmesan cheese so it melts smoothly and helps thicken the sauce.

📚 Variations

  • You can also add in some protein like grilled chicken, shrimp, or diced cooked ham would be great additions.
  • Add in some vegetables such as sauteed mushrooms, zucchini, or yellow squash would be delicious in this dish.
  • Make it spicy by adding in some crushed red pepper flakes or diced jalapenos.
  • Use a different type of cheese like Gruyere, mozzarella, or cheddar.

🥫 Storage

Leftovers and be stored in the fridge for up five days in an airtight container. Reheat in the microwave or in a skillet on the stovetop. If the pasta is too thick, you can also thin it a little with heavy cream or milk.

I do not recommend freezing this pasta because of the dairy content in it. Plus, the pasta will be mushy when thawed and reheated.

When my kids were growing up they loved the box Pasta Roni, but I didn't like the idea of them eating the chemicals in it. With this recipe, you can satisfy that craving, without all the chemicals. And, if you ask me it tastes even better than the boxed stuff. Want to make a complete meal? Just add some rotisserie chicken to it. It's delicious!
