Someone to Watch Over Me -- Guardian Angels

Published: Jan 18, 2014 · Modified: Oct 16, 2024 by Marisa Franca

Do you believe in Guardian Angels?

I've always thought they were out there,

                        Somewhere. . .

                                                      but I didn't really have proof. . .

until now.

The proof came to me when my husband and I were in Naples, Italy.

Naples, Italy Bay with tall building in foreground.

There was so much to see and do we decided to be our own tour guides which is so typical of us - doing it our way. We picked up a map and we decided we wanted to see the outdoor market and experience the sights, sounds and smells first hand of the real Napoli. It was wonderful . . . a senses overload.

As we browsed the booths we noticed an elderly couple picking up items here and there. Wherever we were,  they seemed to be there. At that time we didn't think too much about it. We came up to a piazza and in the distance we saw what appeared to be a castle . . .

high . . .

perched on the hill.

We looked around for a way up to that castle. We spotted a very steep narrow street/alley that could have been the way up.

We had been climbing . . . yes climbing . . . for about fifteen minutes. The street/alley was deserted and it looked as if the buildings were more desolate and run down. We turned around . . .

and there they were the elderly couple. There was no-one else behind them.

My Honey jokingly asked if they were following us. They didn't speak English so I translated but made sure they knew that he was only kidding.

The first thing they asked was if we were lost. I told them that we were just sight seeing. The elderly lady placed her hand on my arm and informed me that I didn't want to go in that direction.

Bad things happened up there.

Things were not good there.

We were better off going back down to where there were people.

We spoke a few minutes more, thanked them for their help and turned to leave. I looked around once more but they were gone . . .

disappeared . . .

as if they hadn't been there.

My mamma and papa always wanted to have us return to the country of our births. I believe that is was my dear parents watching over us.

Amazing!

When we needed help and advice they were there . . . for us. I am so happy that they are close...always.
