- Shortening - we used butter flavored Crisco.
- Creamy Peanut Butter
- Brown Sugar
- Milk
- Vanilla Extract
- Egg
- All-Purpose Flour

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and add shortening to the mixing bowl.
- Next add the packed brown sugar to the mixing bowl.
- Then add the peanut butter.
- And add the milk to the large bowl.
- Add in the vanilla extract and grab your hand mixer.
- Mix the shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla until well blended.
- Then add the egg and mix until just combined. Do not overmix once you add the egg.
- Add flour to a small mixing bowl.
- Next add baking soda and salt to the flour bowl.
- Measure out cocoa powder and place it in the small bowl with flour, baking soda and salt.
- Whisk the dry mixture together until combined.
- Then add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
- Using a medium-size cookie scoop form 1 to 1½ inch dough balls and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet. (If you don't use parchment paper, place the dough balls on an ungreased baking sheet.)
- Use a fork to press the dough down in a criss cross pattern on each cookie.
- Repeat until all cookies have the fork pattern.
- Bake for 7 to 8 minutes at 375℉ until just set around the edges. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 2 minutes to cool, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to finish.

- ¾ cup Peanut Butter, creamy
- 1 ½ cups Brown sugar, packed
- 3 Tablespoons Milk
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
- ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1 Egg large
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375℉.
- In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer beat together the shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla until well blended.
- Add the egg and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
