  • Shortening - we used butter flavored Crisco.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter
  • Brown Sugar
  • Milk
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Egg
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • Baking Soda
  • Kosher salt

🗒 Instructions

First set of steps for making the peanut butter cookies.
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and add shortening to the mixing bowl.
  2. Next add the packed brown sugar to the mixing bowl.
  3. Then add the peanut butter.
  4. And add the milk to the large bowl.
Second set of instructions for assembling the peanut butter with chocolate cookies.
  1. Add in the vanilla extract and grab your hand mixer.
  2. Mix the shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla until well blended.
  3. Then add the egg and mix until just combined. Do not overmix once you add the egg.
  4. Add flour to a small mixing bowl.
Third set of four steps for making the peanut butter cookies with cocoa recipe.
  1. Next add baking soda and salt to the flour bowl.
  2. Measure out cocoa powder and place it in the small bowl with flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Whisk the dry mixture together until combined.
  4. Then add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until combined.
Fourth and final steps to assembling the Chocolate Peanut butter cookies.
  1. Using a medium-size cookie scoop form 1 to 1½ inch dough balls and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet. (If you don't use parchment paper, place the dough balls on an ungreased baking sheet.)
  2. Use a fork to press the dough down in a criss cross pattern on each cookie.
  3. Repeat until all cookies have the fork pattern.
  4. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes at 375℉ until just set around the edges. Leave the cookies on the baking sheet for 2 minutes to cool, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to finish.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup shortening ** see notes regular or butter flavor
  • ¾ cup Peanut Butter, creamy
  • 1 ½ cups Brown sugar, packed
  • 3 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 Egg large

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375℉.
  • In a large mixing bowl, using a hand mixer beat together the shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla until well blended.
  • Add the egg and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.

  • Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until combined.
