Ingredients

  • 16 ounces pizza dough store-bought or make your own
  • 8 Tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 1 cup freshly grated mozzarella cheese For Jack-O-Lantern and Spider Pizzas
  • Mozzarella cheese slices For Ghost and Mummy Pizzas (not processed cheese)
  • Bell Peppers Assorted
  • Pepperoni
  • Black Olives
  • Green Olives
  • Any additional toppings your family enjoys for your own creative pizzas.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425℉ and place a pizza stone inside to heat up.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and divide the pizza dough into 4-equal pieces.
  • Stretch by hand or lightly roll dough into 6-to-8-inch circles until you reach your desired dough thickness.
  • Add 2 Tablespoons of pizza sauce to each prepared dough and follow the directions below for each pizza you would like to make.
  • Transfer one prepared pizza dough to a pizza peel that has been prepare with flour or cornmeal. This will make transferring to the pizza stone easier.

For the Jack-O-Lantern Pizza

  • Sprinkle one-half cup of grated mozzarella cheese over the dough to cover the pizza sauce.
  • Next cut 3 pieces of pepperoni into triangle shapes and place on the pizza as the eyes and nose of Jack-O-Lantern.
  • Cut off the top of a bell pepper to form the stem of the Jack-O-Lantern.
  • Create the mouth by using a piece of bell pepper cut into a jagged shape.

For the Spider Pizza

  • Sprinkle one-half cup of grated mozzarella cheese over the dough to cover the sauce.
  • Next cut a black olive in half lengthwise to form the body of the spider.
  • Cut the second half of the olive across the width in 6 pieces to create legs.
  • assemble the spider on the pizza and repeat for as many spiders as you would like.

For the Mummy Pizza

  • Add 2 intact green olives with pimentos to the top middle of the pizza dough over the sauce where you would like the mummy eyes to be.
  • Next slice mozzarella slices in strips and create a bandage look over the sauce. Leave a bit of space between strips with the sauce showing.
  • Cut additional strips to add immediately when the pizza comes out of the oven as some cheese melt faster and ghosts can lose their shape. The additional slices will define the bandages on the pizza.

For the Ghost Pizza

  • Using a ghost-shaped cookie, cut 6 ghost shapes from the sliced mozzarella cheese. Add 3 to the pizza. Save three for adding after the pizza has been cooked. This is in the event that the cheese spreads and the fresh cheese will add back the definition.
  • For the eyes, use a small round piping tip to cut circle shapes from a black olive. Arrange the eyes on the ghosts.

For All The Pizzas

  • Transfer pizzas to the pizza stone and bake for 8 minutes or until cheese is melted and the crust is golden. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Recipe Success Tips:
  • Pay attention to the Mummy and Ghost Pizzas to add additional cheese if the design spreads after baking. You can also substitute buffalo mozzarella that tends to hold its shape better in the oven.
  • Halloween night can be very busy for families. Consider making the pizzas in advance and freezing them. Add a few minutes to the baking time.
  • Time crunch tip -- You can also decorate mini frozen pizzas in a time crunch.
  • These pizzas would be fun for kids to make themselves at a party. Pre-cut toppings and allow their imaginations to run wild!
  • You may use the back of cookie sheet to slide off the pizza onto the stone.
  • If you don't have a stone, keep the pizzas on the back of the baking sheet.
