Easy BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza With Speedy Version

This BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza is a delicious meal that doesn't take long to make. If you like chicken pizza then you will love this simple recipe that takes less than an hour to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 teapoon Dry oregano
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1.5 pounds Boneless chicken breast *** Check notes for speedy version
  • cups Colby Jack Cheese
  • cups Barbecue sauce
  • 2 Artisan Flatbreads

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375℉ degrees.
  • Drizzle half the olive oil on the baking dish.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the olive oil on the baking dish.
  • Drizzle the other half of the olive oil over the chicken breasts.
  • Cover the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  • Bake the chicken breasts for 30 minutes. The internal temperature should read 165℉ (74℃).
  • Once the chicken is cooked use two forks to shred the chicken. Toss chicken with 1 cup of the barbecue sauce.
  • Spread half of the remaining barbecue sauce on the bottom of each of the artisan flatbreads (the bottom is the flat side). This will allow the textured side to be flaky.
  • Cover each of the artisan flatbreads with half of the shredded chicken.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the shredded chicken for both artisan flatbreads.
  • Sprinkle the oregano over the shredded cheese for both artisan flatbreads.
  • Sprinkle the oregano over the shredded cheese for both artisan flatbreads.
  • Bake the prepared pizzas for 7 minutes directly on the grates in the oven. Can be cooked longer if you want a crispier flatbread.
  • Remove from the oven and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Save time and use shredded rotisserie chicken instead of baking your own chicken breast. 
  • For a more intense barbecue flavor mix the chicken with some of the sauce. 
  • Make sure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F before you shred it and add it to your pizza.
  • Add a finishing touch to this recipe with a sprinkle of fresh cilantro or parsley after you remove it from the oven.
  • If you like your crust extra crispy, once your cheese is melted turn the oven on broil and place the chicken flatbread under the broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until it's crispy.
  • You can also add a touch of green onions to your pizza for a fresh taste.
